What We’re Looking For
We accept a wide range of physical items, including:
- Outdoor Gear and Field Equipment: Items that support scientists in the field, such as backpacks, boots, tents, and other gear.
- Science-Related Items: Books, rock hammers, tools, and equipment related to earth and environmental sciences.
- High-Quality Rock and Mineral Samples: Unique, well-preserved geological specimens that highlight the beauty and diversity of the earth’s materials.
- Handmade Goods and Art: Crafts, artwork, and other creative items that reflect the spirit of Queer Earth’s mission.
- Gift Cards and Experiences: Event tickets, outdoor experiences, or gift cards to help us raise funds while providing exciting opportunities for our supporters.
How to Donate
If you have an item you’d like to contribute, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s how you can get involved:
- Submit Your Item: Please email us at queer-earth@queer-earth.org to let us know that you are interested in donating auction items. Please provide a brief description of the item, its estimated value, and any relevant details.
- Ship Your Item: Once your donation is confirmed, we will provide you with shipping details. We ask that you pay for the shipping or arrange for a local exchange (we are located in Sacramento, California).
- Receive Recognition: As a donor, your contribution will be acknowledged during the auction, and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that your item is helping to support our mission.
Tax-Deductible Donations
All items donated are tax-deductible for the lesser of either the amount you originally paid for the item or its current fair market value. Upon receipt of your donation, we will provide you with the necessary documentation for tax purposes.
